White papier-mâché ibex sculpture by Maryam Darapour on a walnut sideboard in a living room
Handmade by Maryam Darapour

Sculpture for the rooms you live in.

Papier-mâché sculpture and hand-painted timber, made one piece at a time and shown here the way it will sit in a home.

Quiet animals, guardian figures and balanced forms, shaped by hand in paper and finished to a soft, chalk-like surface. Each one is made to be lived with, on a shelf, a sideboard or a windowsill.

Colour, by brush, on wood

Alongside the sculpture, Maryam paints directly onto timber. This tall panel carries a climbing floral pattern in blues and soft rose, painted freehand so the grain of the wood stays part of the piece.

Panels can be made to suit a wall, a colour scheme or a narrow space beside a window or door.

One of one

Each sculpture is built up and finished by hand, so no two are the same. What you see is the piece you receive.

Light to live with

Papier-mâché gives the look of stone or fired clay at a fraction of the weight. Easy to place on a shelf and easy to move.

Forms with a past

Ibex, bulls, birds and winged guardians sit beside pure shapes like the ring and the cube.
